My first idea was essentially a pan and zoom idea. The user would start out with a large overview of the work where everything would be zoomed out. Here, they would see all of the work laid out next to each other in tiny images.

They could use the ability to zoom in to view the work at a larger scale (and hopefully less yucky image quality).

They would also be able to pan around the screen by using their mouse to drag it around, and arrow keys could be utilized to avoid the pan of clicking and dragging on a trackpad.

Ideally from here, the user would also be able to access more information from those images. Clicking the image could pop up more information, perhaps full screen or simply in a small box to the side.
timeline
This idea would show various stages of work on a timeline, from process to completion. Since we work on projects simultaneously, they could also make for some interesting overlaps. The user would start at the beginning of the timeline.

From here, they can pan horizontally from side to side by using hotspots on the left and right third of the browser. This automatically scrolls the screen left to right, and holding down the mouse key will also accelerate the speed of the scroll.

The layers can be turned on and off-- if you just wanted to see process (or in this case, turtles) you'd simply click that and all the other layers would turn off. Also, hovering over the image would bring it up in opacity, making it easier to see what you're hovering over within the timeline.

Clicking the image would also pull up more information and a larger view of the project.

filter
This idea was based on filter: being able to narrow down designs based on design-related filters (color, type, size, medium, etc). Unfortunately even pokemon could not make this script cooperate, so I only have a small example. The user will start out with thumbnails of all the work, since nothing has been filtered yet:

By choosing a filter, it will narrow the work down.

Ideally there would be various sets of filters that narrow the designs down in different manner for the user depending on which filters they chose. From here, they could of course enlarge the work and view more of it/about it.
