visual advocacy: our process so far...

This semester Michael May and I are working on our visual advocacy project together concerning early education. As a reminder from our presentation, here's our problem statement, what we want to change and our target audience!

So far we've had the opportunity to talk to the Associate Educator of the Youth and Family programs at the Nelson-Atkins Art Museum, as well as the Program Director of marc.org's Metropolitan Council for Early Learning. So far, everyone has been really eager to help with our research, so we gained a ton of information! Probably some of the most important points they've given to us are the ones we covered in our presentation: an emphasis on reading, language and conversation, and practicing education in daily, everyday activities. Keeping this in mind also keeps the parents' schedules in mind--who are busy and may not necessarily have time to set aside to do educational activities at home.

That being said, here are our ideas for measuring results from when we began: not sure how/if these can play into our current ideas for the project or not, or if they'll need to be altered some.
