After many suggestions, and my own agreement with the darkness of the darker yellow, it's lightened up a bit!
What I wanted to do before coming up with any names was brainstorm a list of words that would be related to my topic, or shoes in general, starting with the connotative attributes from earlier.
Connotative Attributes
hand made, culture, fashion, femininity, tradition, ornament, history
Materials and Process
leather, wood, silk, fur, beads, thread, sewn, woven, stitched, beaded
Parts of shoes and feet
quarter, counter, heel, shank, welt, sole, toe box, vamp, insole lining, top line (throat), quarter, laces, buckle, strap, toes, arch, ball of the foot, ankles
Free Brainstorming
walking, step, tap, squeak, path, shoe fitting, shoe size, footwear, a pair of shoes, protection, "walk a mile in someone else's shoes", "goody two shoes", footprints, the perfect fit
- Leather, Silk and Beads
- Silk, Beads and Leather Soles
- Cultural Laces
- Cultural Footprints
- From Heel to Toe
- Art and Sole
- Mapped Footprints
- The Path Home
- The Traveler's Closet
- The Traveler's Shoebox
After feeling like some of the first were too obvious/uninformative, I started to kind of find myself thinking back to the icon, index, symbol idea as far as coming up with names. To come up with ways to represent culture without saying "cultural" the idea of the world traveler came to mind, as well as maps and referring to a specific country as "home". Not sure if these titles are getting that idea across, or are maybe too far removed?
