After failed attempts at getting my information to be understandable, I took some time yesterday to re-address the information I was dealing with and started from scratch. I went ahead and scrapped the map idea for awhile so I could focus on the real content of my infographic. Reading over my research, there was a lot of overlap in the information that I wasn't addressing, and I wanted to bring those connections into the graphic along with the comparison between functional/social shoes. One of the main issues I was having was distinguishing these two from each other, so I implemented color to separate functional and social both on the horizontal graph and the boxes my facts are contained in.

Using line to connect the facts to the shoes, shoes that have shared facts connect to the same box.

So moving forward, some revisions:
- Re-align the boxes to fit on a vertical grid.
- Find a new solution to the black lines.
- Thicken up the horizontal gradient and integrate the "functional" and "social" type within it.
- Add labels and headers to all the shoes, text boxes and countries.
- Bring back in the maps for another level of information.
