Project 3: Final Thoughts

The initial problem I had with this project was deciding which direction my content was actually going in. My first few tries at hand-generated infographics ended up being indecisive and visually uninformative. I struggled with the complexity of my information and wasn't allowing my research to inform my design. Moving forward, I implemented graphic elements such as color and line, and was able to convey the overlap and comparisons between social and functional shoes more successfully. Once the system had been established, I was able to layer secondary information into the graphic, as well as better inform the decisions I was making on my magazine spread.

Overall, this project has been a good way for me to implement what we've been learning in both classes during the course of the semester. The importance of a strong visual system and clear typographic hierarchy make for a cohesive and understandable artifact.
